I honestly wouldn't say continuing to buy competitive decks is good in the long run. From what I see, a deck like mermails seem to be a safe bet since they can challenge the meta decks and can pull wins without need of extra deck. On the other hand, investing in a zoo deck seems to be pretty good as, so as long they don't get hit on the banlist(I think its likely once august comes around), then they can still run games easily since there not too badly affected by link format.

So to buy a full meta pendulum deck would be good for at least for a month before links come around. Reasoning is link format is coming soon and it comes with a nerf to extra deck and pendulums. For example, people are talking about pendulum magicians with the new banlist, but I would advise not investing in that deck. But from a competitive point of view, try to invest in a competitive deck that is going to see play for awhile. My personal opinion is invest that money into a deck you will enjoy playing regardless if it's meta or not. Sure there are packs and sometimes special prizes like mats, but I personally think it's not worth the investment(this is coming from a casual who hangs around with some people who go to YCS btw). If you are curious the deck build is going to be similar to the top decks.įrom what I see, most of the time the benefit of going into competitive yugioh is to find the pleasure of being the best around. I am a returning duelist back when synchro's came out recently

Is it a good investment in the long run? Cause I see some cards sell for loads of money such as Raigeki or Pot of Desires running at high amountsīest friend and I was thinking of doing competitive duelling such as going to local shops and join competitions What are tips you can give before I invest such a large amount at once? What are the benefits of getting into playing yugioh competitive like for example winning booster packs is one, but is there more to yugioh then booster packs is there any benefit when investing money into competitive play? However before buying all the cards I want to create the deck which is roughly 500 USD including staple cards such as solemn strike, warning and raigeki. I have decided to play Invoked Archetype with windwitch built into it. Expansion x1 Battlewasp - Hama the Conquering Bow x1 Windwitch - Winter Bell x2 F.A.After finding out that the archetypes I initially wanted to play are dead in today's meta eg. Virtual World Kyubi - Shenshen x1 Hi-Speedroid Kitedrake x1 Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon x2 Windwitch - Diamond Bell x1 Clear Wing Synchro Dragon x2 Clear Wing Fast Dragon x2 Wind Pegasus x1 Virtual World Beast - Jiujiu x1 Hi-Speedroid Kendama x1 Hi-Speedroid Chanbara x1 Hi-Speedroid Rubber Band Shooter x2Ĭosmic Blazar Dragon x1 Shooting Star Dragon T.G.
